In general, mornings with LilyJoy are mine. We wake up together, I feed her, I change her diaper, I dress her-- you get the picture. Well, one day last week, we were running late for preschool drop-off and I didn't quite have time to get Lily altogether. So, of course, I left her in the good hands of her sweet daddy... or so I thought. When I left, she had been fed, but was still in her jammies. When I came home, this is what I saw:

Good heavenly days, LilyJoy! What on EARTH are you wearing? Lavender velour pants that were just a *little* too short, pulled up to her chest over her extraordinarily large diaper bottom, dark PURPLE socks with white stars, white tennis shoes with PURPLE flowers, PURPLE onsie turtleneck that was just a *little* too big. My mom happened to stop by that morning and she just started laughing. Now, to DH's credit, he was VERY proud to point out the fact that she was "very coordinated." Yes, Love, the purple was lovely, complete with purple barrette...it's just, well, not a very cute outfit. Actually, she kind of looked, as my mom and I agreed, like a little old Chinese lady. You decide.
Good thing she's cute.

These will be great first date and/or wedding reception pictures. Way to go, Steve - as a fellow dad, I heartily approve.
Hilarious! In that first picture she even looks a little ticked off about the wardrobe choices that were made for her!!
Laughing! Hysterically!
I am laughing so hard! That is exactly what my dh would do with our daughter. Boys are much easier to coordinate. Hey, I give your dh big kuddos for trying! He'll get it eventually. This is why I always lay out the outfits for Kacie. Hahaha!
Oh this is just too cute!! It looks like daddy really tried and we will give him an A for effort...As we have had three boys and I know that Curtis will do his best I have a nice little gift from my parents to help him. It is a fabric "thing" that has 5 different compartments that will hang in the closest where I can place five complete outfits, including hair accessories; this way, on the mornings that daddy may need to dress her he can pull out a complete outfit that has been "mommy approved". She looks just precious!!!
Oh my!! "A" for effort, not so much for style! Although it did serve for a GREAT blog post! And yes, good thing she's cute! Wait until you have to leave overnight and you teach DH how to do her hair, with bows, clips, and all! My DH has mastered clippies!!!
OK, OK, OK, this is dad here. Yes, I dressed our daughter in those lovely threads. For the record: she matched.
LMAO!
I can't believe you left the house without him asking, "what should she wear?" Fortunately, that question usually gets asked here so there is no guesswork going on by dad.
And yes, the color matching is impressive...but really...the pants up to her chest are too much!
LOL...that is so funny! Thanks for the laugh, LJ's daddy:)
Oh My!! This is the funniest, most precious thing ever.
Yes indeed, she does look like a little old chinese lady.
Great blog!
Awesome!!!!
Ha! One day I came home and my husband was just returning home from Home Depot with our (then 6 month old) son who was wearing ONLY a not-so-clean white onesie and socks. I said, "did you take him out in that?" And he responded, "what? it's Home Depot." At least yours color coordinated! LOL
