Summer was here!!

Well, I've been a wee bit MIA lately (in my mind, anyway!), but I think that's a good thing. We're coming up on, oh, about day 53 of our wait for LOA and it has been SUCH a blessing for the weather to be GORGEOUS here in the PNW! We've been so busy, I haven't thought a ton about what day of waiting we are on and I really think the Lord is helping me with that-- perhaps preparing me for a longer wait?? I shudder to think so. But in the meantime, we still pray and hope that our LOA comes soon. I think it also has to do with a bit of denial that it could happen soon. And here I sit, avoiding filling out the rest of our I-800 forms. Sometimes, I almost think that if I fill them out, I'll be jinxing it somehow, completely irrational thinking, I know.

Instead of obsessing about our wait, here is a bit of what we have been up to on these 75-90 degree days (yup, you heard me right, we hit 90 today!! Oh, and I say "was" because I'm pretty sure that next week, we're back to our regularly scheduled weather... man, we've been spoiled):

The slip N slide was very fun after they figured out how it worked-- there is most definitely a learning curve there :)

Timothy riding our dog, Moses. This is not entirely a safe thing to do as Moses is enormous and could/would gallop off at any moment!

After living in our house 1 1/2 years now and having the disassembled kit in our yard facing the elements, we FINALLY finished the swingset that came from our old backyard!! All we have left to do is put some cedar chips down-- but I don't expect that will happen for another few years yet. Thanks Dad and Steve!

These last two are from today! We drove up to Seattle and met my brother for a little picnic at the Seattle Center's huge fountain. It was so much fun and just perfect until about noon when all the kid groups in the area invaded. The boys were not having much of the fountain (too big, a little intimidating,I think), but Pete and I had fun!

Oh how I WISH for 90 degree heat. We're awaiting tomorrow as it is predicted to SNOW. I know!!!!!!! :-( Can you believe it? We NEVER get snow in June. Yes, we live in Canada...but this isn't the Arctic!!! I'm just glad that it's summer somewhere...so we have hope! :-)

Love the pics!

Thanks for posting the button! Right now you have a 50/50 chance of winning! If you comment on my blog about your favorite item, you should definitely win! No one has done that yet. So if you have time, go do it!!!

Love the pics of the boys! WOW 90? We had one touch of the hot weather, and then crazy thunderstorms here. Back to pleasant sunshine!

I can't wait for you to travel. Am I impatient or what? But those boys of yours sure are yummy! So what's the trick to getting Moses to sit long enough for a pic? And is there an instruction guide you can write for us on how to get over the learning curve of a slip in slide? We have one too, but I'm surely not about to demonstrate. I'll look like a beached whale!

I was so glad to see a photo of Moses! I remember when you guys first got him! He was a sweet puppy to sit for :) I am also happy to know that my yard is not the only yard that things sit disassembled in! Denis always tells me that his middle name really isn't Patrick, its Procrastination!!

I am so excited that you are getting closer to your little girl. We had our two nieces who were both adopted from China over two nights ago. They are such a joy to have in our lives, and really is amazing how quickly they learn. Whenever I see them I can't help to be proud to live in this country-knowing that the moment they set foot here they can do anything they set their minds to!

Have fun in the sunshine!

Dropped in from RQ. As soon as I read about the unusual summer like weather, I thought maybe you were local. The fountain photo pretty much confirmed it. (It took a visit to your profile to be absolutely sure).

Congrats on LOA. Unfortunately, it is REALLY, REALLY hot in China in the summer, and they think 80+ degrees, inside, is comfortable.

With the AC running 24/7, we could only get our rooms down to 75 degrees, and asked for fans. They couldn't understand why we were hot. They throught it was 'comfortably cool'.

Take lots of lightweight clothing!
