I have resisted buying any girl clothes at all for the past, well, since we decided to adopt last January (2008). You have no idea the amount of restraint that has taken place on my part. Now that we know who our Ping Ping is, though, I figured it's time. We have a consignment sale that is right down the street from our house that happens twice a year and you better believe I had this one marked on my calendar! I have been so excited to go to this sale-- you would have thought it was Christmas! After buying clothes for only boys these past 4 1/2 years, the thrill of something different is something to be marveled at. I definitely made a list of items that I need, but I also listed out estimates of sizes of what I thought Ping Ping would be wearing when she got home. Well, turns out, buying clothes for girls is a VERY different experience from buying boy clothes. First of all, the girls section is AT LEAST twice the size of the boys. And then, there is the issue of play clothes vs. "church" clothes (please understand, church clothes in this household basically consist of anything CLEAN, not necessarily dressy...and we're lucky if that even happens.) or whatever is considered dressy or play clothes. Finally, given that I have only a vague idea of when Ping Ping is coming home, I felt very overwhelmed buying the right season of clothing. This and not to mention that I don't even really know what size she is currently wearing! Needless to say, I very disappointingly did not buy much. What I did buy, though, I'm hoping will last through a few seasons and she will eventually get to wear. Mostly I ended up with pajamas and socks and a few tights, figuring that if I'm wrong, at least she can grow into them.

This one is actually not for me to enjoy... we are sending it in a care package that I hope to have together very soon. I can picture her in it, though, and it makes me smile.

I love LOVE this one! It is 18 months, though, so I hope it fits for next year. I figured that Timothy can still wear some 18 month clothes (he's 2 1/2 and has always been little), so maybe...

This could work for winter or spring, it should fit fine, unless of course, it's too big! :) See why I didn't buy more?? I wonder when the fall sale will be?

OMGoodness, Ping Ping is BEAUTIFUL. How in the world did I miss the last few and MOST important posts! Shame on me. I know the feeling of shopping for Pink and appreciate how complicated it all gets! Assume she'll be tiny!!! Buy season-neutral, and do what you're doing, PJ's, jumpers, socks, tights, hair accessories. I have so much that I bought for Morgan that luckily we'll get to use for the baby on the way. Most of what I bought for Gracyn got used, but later than I thought. Have fun shopping!!! Oh, and I've learned that leggings and tops work great - they stretch, and they can be worn sort of short if they're skinny and tall, or bunched in the winter if too long. They work in Fall, Spring, Cool Summer Nighs, and Winter under sweaters!!! Thank you for stopping by our blog and for your prayers!
I totally understand about buying pink:) I've been buying things here and there the last couple of years. I'm guessing Gabriella will be able to wear some of the things but a few may be too small. However...not that I can officially post anything on my blog for the next few days but we may just end up traveling together:)

Eeeek! That's certainly a fun part! Finally feeling released enough to buy clothes! So excited for you! We had Lael third (after two boys) and it felt extremely weird (and fun!) to buy clothes for a GIRL! This time around, we don't know sizes and we have tones of hand-me-downs, so I have done *nothing*. I don't like shopping normally, but even *I* want to pick up a few new things for Dorothy. Guessing big is probably the best bet.
Oh- your sweet little Ping Ping be so cute in these!!!!
