Samuel the mariner

Courtney and I spent time this weekend helping with Quest at Lake Retreat. The teens and staff had an amazing time and we ALL came away feeling refreshed and reminded of the amazing power of Christ.

Each of the teens were given an opportunity to create a small, wooden boat. One of the leaders was nice enough to give Samuel his own boat at the conclusion of the weekend. Last night Samuel and I glued it together and this morning it was time to paint it. Can you guess which one Samuel painted and which one daddy worked on? :)

An excellent source of entertainment

Please take a moment to look at this, especially those of you who know how tricky treadmills can be!-- my sister passed it on to me and I feel that you really must watch it for the good of your well-being, and maybe for a really good laugh.

Boys, boys, boys...

Is this "normal?" Samuel and Timothy decided this afternoon that they would put buckets on their heads, take the cushions OFF the couch, then run around on the couch as fast as they could(not taking into account that they could not see the EDGE of the couch) and scream. *sigh* Is this where my life is headed? Is this why I quit my fabulous, well-paying, highly respected job??(oh wait, I was a nurse...) I love those two little monkeys. I did flash forward into the future the other day, though, when someone asked me if I felt like I was living in a locker room. And then my mom mentioned that they'd probably be the types of teenagers who came home from school and ate a whole loaf of bread for a snack. Whoa, I think I'll just enjoy watching them with buckets on their heads for a little while longer. Man, I need a girl-- even the dog is a male.

We love you and are VERY proud of you, Samuel!!

Love, Mama

Happy Birthday to Auntie Steph in Georgia today, too!!

Beano is 3

We asked Samuel what he wanted for his Special Breakfast and instantly said he wanted porkies and an apple dutch baby. So we were up at o-dark-thirty making his majesty's feast. Please note the crown he made at Bible Adventure last Saturday.

We hope you enjoy these pictures from the breakfast. He is quite the Big Boy now!
