This is the day that the Lord has made

These past two days have made me so completely sick with spring fever since they have been absolutely gorgeous-- maybe even in the 60's and sunny!! As most of you know, we moved last October, so I haven't really gotten to experience "garden season" here yet. But that huge plot of vacant land in my backyard has been screaming for inhabitants and I have been making list after list of things to plant! I cannot wait!!! Gardening is probably the one thing that would possibly pull me away and distract me from all this paperchasing business we're doing right now. And it is so heavenly to have two little boys getting just as dirty as they could be right next to me with their own little trowels and hands. What more could I ask for?? I'm trying not to get too used to the weather yet, though, since I know this is our tricky little moment of February glory before the rain of spring. In the meantime, I'll just keep pulling weeds and getting ready for an amazing garden... well, at least a pretty good one.

So Starts a New Adventure!

Well, some of you may know that we have been talking for some time about adopting a little girl internationally and now we finally have a bit of news to share! On Feb 1st, we sent in our application to ASIA (Associated Services for International Adoption) for the Taiwan program and just heard back today that we have been accepted. I cannot even begin to describe to you how excited we are... We're going to have a little girl around here!! Well, now, don't get too excited yet-- this is going to be a LLLLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG process. We were the last people that ASIA will be accepting for a while (WHEW!) because at the moment, our agency is estimating that the last few people who will be turning in their home studies will not even be submitting their paperwork to Taiwan until late 2009 (then they actually have to find a child for us and following that are court proceedings-- an additional 8-10 months probably). We have a line of folks in front of us, so we are probably looking at a 2-3 year wait for the process to be completed. In the meantime, Coco has a nice long time to decide exactly how baby's room will look-- and given my usual timeline and difficulty making decisions for that sort of thing, it's a good thing.

Once I begin to process all that will go into this, I will let out the story of how God changed our hearts to this incredible miracle, but for now, I'm tired. Please pray for peace on this journey, it's not going to be an easy one, but a very blessed one in the end.
