Summer was here!!

Well, I've been a wee bit MIA lately (in my mind, anyway!), but I think that's a good thing. We're coming up on, oh, about day 53 of our wait for LOA and it has been SUCH a blessing for the weather to be GORGEOUS here in the PNW! We've been so busy, I haven't thought a ton about what day of waiting we are on and I really think the Lord is helping me with that-- perhaps preparing me for a longer wait?? I shudder to think so. But in the meantime, we still pray and hope that our LOA comes soon. I think it also has to do with a bit of denial that it could happen soon. And here I sit, avoiding filling out the rest of our I-800 forms. Sometimes, I almost think that if I fill them out, I'll be jinxing it somehow, completely irrational thinking, I know.

Instead of obsessing about our wait, here is a bit of what we have been up to on these 75-90 degree days (yup, you heard me right, we hit 90 today!! Oh, and I say "was" because I'm pretty sure that next week, we're back to our regularly scheduled weather... man, we've been spoiled):

The slip N slide was very fun after they figured out how it worked-- there is most definitely a learning curve there :)

Timothy riding our dog, Moses. This is not entirely a safe thing to do as Moses is enormous and could/would gallop off at any moment!

After living in our house 1 1/2 years now and having the disassembled kit in our yard facing the elements, we FINALLY finished the swingset that came from our old backyard!! All we have left to do is put some cedar chips down-- but I don't expect that will happen for another few years yet. Thanks Dad and Steve!

These last two are from today! We drove up to Seattle and met my brother for a little picnic at the Seattle Center's huge fountain. It was so much fun and just perfect until about noon when all the kid groups in the area invaded. The boys were not having much of the fountain (too big, a little intimidating,I think), but Pete and I had fun!

Timothy's New Face

Timothy has a new face. Daddy's really proud cause it looks like a boxing injury :) On Tuesday afternoon, we were headed out the door to our weekly craft night with my family (no crafting actually gets done, but that's a whole 'nother post...), when my beautiful and slightly clumsy baby boy tripped on his shoe and WHACKED his head onto the hearth of the fireplace. Needless to say, he was NOT happy. I decided to take him to the ER and sure enough, they gave him four little stitches above his left eye. HOOO-boy!! was he ever not happy with that decision. As a mom, it's hard enough to see your child get hurt, but when the hurt also involves some voluntary hurt like stitches, it just about tears you apart!

Without further ado, here is my little fighter man...
